Enhancement Gradient Pulse Waveforms in MR Tomography
نویسنده
چکیده
The magnetic resonance (MR) imaging techniques of tomography and spectroscopy are exploited in many applications. For the MR instruments to function properly it is necessary to maintain a high quality of homogeneity of the fundamental magnetic field. The pre-emphasis compensation of the generated gradient field increases the homogeneity of the generated magnetic field and reduces the minimum switching times of the gradients. This enables measuring the MR images of incisions in the human body, the relaxation properties of nuclei, self-diffusion processes, flows of liquids and movements of solids faster and more accurately.

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance physics for clinicians: part II
This is the second of two reviews that is intended to cover the essential aspects of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) physics in a way that is understandable and relevant to clinicians using CMR in their daily practice. Starting with the basic pulse sequences and contrast mechanisms described in part I, it briefly discusses further approaches to accelerate image acquisition. It then cont...
متن کاملDelayed contrast enhancement on MR images of myocardium: past, present, future.
Differential enhancement of myocardial infarction was first recognized on computed tomographic (CT) images obtained with iodinated contrast material in the late 1970s. Gadolinium enhancement of myocardial infarction was initially reported for T1-weighted magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in 1984. The introduction of an inversion-recovery gradient-echo MR sequence for accentuation of the contrast ...
متن کاملFrontiers in cardiovascular magnetic resonance.
Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (MR) is emerging as a multipurpose imaging modality for the assessment of cardiovascular disease in general and ischemic heart disease in particular. Currently, the pace of innovation is rapid, and the modality is changing from one that is used primarily as a research tool to one that is increasingly used in routine clinical practice. The process of innovation ...
متن کاملT1-weighted three-dimensional magnetization transfer MR of the brain: improved lesion contrast enhancement.
PURPOSE We developed and evaluated clinically T1-weighted three-dimensional gradient-echo magnetization transfer (MT) sequences for contrast-enhanced MR imaging of the brain. METHODS A short-repetition-time, radio frequency-spoiled, 3-D sequence was developed with a 10-millisecond MT pulse at high MT power and narrow MT pulse-frequency offset, and the enhancing lesion-to-normal white matter b...
متن کاملIntravascular MR imaging-guided balloon angioplasty with an MR imaging guide wire: feasibility study in rabbits.
PURPOSE To develop a technique for intravascular magnetic resonance (MR)-guided balloon angioplasty with use of an MR imaging guide wire. MATERIALS AND METHODS An MR imaging guide wire (0.6-mm loopless antenna) that could be placed within a balloon catheter was manufactured. The guide wire was expected to function as either an MR receiver probe in real-time MR imaging or a guide wire for use ...
